The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 And those who undo the bonds gently, 2 and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and 3 By the angels hastening, 4 by those that direct an affair! 5 On the day when the trembling one will tremble. (The disbelievers will certainly taste the punishment.) 6 What must happen afterwards shall follow it. 7 (Some) hearts that Day will shake with fear and anxiety. 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? 10 “When we have become decayed bones?” 11 They say: "It would, in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 Indeed, it will be but one shout, 13 And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 When his Lord called to him in Tuwa's holy vale? 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 And say: 'Would you like to grow (in virtue)? 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 And he showed him the greatest sign, 20 But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); 21 and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, 22 Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, 23 And then said, “I am your most supreme lord.” 24 Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
