The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 when the souls shall be coupled, 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 And when the books are spread, 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 And when the Scorch shall be made to blaze, 12 And when Paradise is brought near. 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 Oh, but I call to witness the planets, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 [That] indeed, the Qur'an is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger 19 Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon. 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 So where are you going? 26 This [message] is no less than a reminder to all mankind 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
