The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the heaven and the Morning Star 1 and what could make you know what it is that comes in the night? 2 The star of piercing brightness; 3 There is no human being but has a protector over him (or her) (i.e. angels incharge of each human being guarding him, writing his good and bad deeds, etc.) 4 So let man consider of what he was created. 5 He was created from spurting fluid, 6 That is issued from between the backs and the ribs. 7 Surely He (the Creator) has the power to bring him back (to life). 8 On the Day when man's deepest secrets shall be put to the test 9 Then will (man) have no power, nor any helper. 10 Consider the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants) 12 this is indeed a Decisive Word, 13 And no trifle. 14 They are devising guile, 15 but I shall bring all their scheming to nought. 16 Let, then, the deniers of the truth have their will: let them have their will for a little while. 17
