S (Saad)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Sad. By the Qur'an full of admonition. 1 No, the unbelievers exalt in their division. 2 How many a generation We have destroyed before them, and they cried out when there was no longer time for escape! 3 And they (Arab pagans) wonder that a warner (Prophet Muhammad SAW) has come to them from among themselves! And the disbelievers say: "This (Prophet Muhammad SAW) is a sorcerer, a liar. 4 What, has he made the gods One God? This is indeed a wondrous thing' 5 The chiefs among them go about, exhorting: Go and be staunch to your gods! Lo! this is a thing designed. 6 We never heard of it in the former faith. It is surely a fabrication. 7 Hath the reminder been unto him (alone) among us? Nay, but they are in doubt concerning My reminder; nay but they have not yet tasted My doom. 8 Do they possess the treasures of your Lord, the Most Mighty, the Great Bestower? 9 Or have they the dominion of the heavens and the earth and all between? If so, let them mount up with the ropes and means (to reach that end)! 10 A very host of parties is routed there! 11 Even before them the people of Noah, 'Ad, the mighty Pharoah, 12 And Samood and the people of Lut and the dwellers of the thicket; these were the parties. 13 Not one of them but belied the Messengers, therefore My Torment was justified, 14
