The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 And when the stars fall, 2 When the mountains vanish (like a mirage); 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 when the souls shall be coupled, 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 for what crime she had been slain, 9 And when the written pages of deeds (good and bad) of every person shall be laid open; 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 Oh, but I call to witness the planets, 15 orbiting, disappearing; 16 And by the night when it departeth, 17 and the morning when it extends, 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 [the word] of one to be heeded, and worthy of trust! 21 (O people of Makkah), your companion is not mad; 22 he truly beheld him [the angel] on the clear horizon. 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 When whither go ye? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. 29
