Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful

The mutual rivalry for piling up (the good things of this world) diverts you (from the more serious things), 1 Until you come to the graves. 2 Nay! You shall come to know! 3 But you will soon come to know. 4 Nay, would that you knew with certainty of knowledge (what your attitude will lead to, you would never have acted the way you do). 5 You will be shown hell 6 Aye, ye will behold it with sure vision. 7 On that Day, you shall be questioned about the pleasures. 8

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
