Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ The Sure Reality! 1 What is the Inevitable? 2 And what would make you realize what the sure calamity is! 3 The Thamud and the 'Ad People (branded) as false the Stunning Calamity! 4 the Thamud were destroyed by a terrible storm of thunder and lightning; 5 And as for 'Aad they were destroyed by a wind, furious, roaring. 6 Which Allah imposed on them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that you could see men lying overthrown (destroyed), as if they were hollow trunks of date-palms! 7 Can you see any remnant of them now? 8 And there came Pharaoh and those before him and the overturned cities with sin. 9 They defied their Lord's messenger, so He seized them with an ever-tightening grip. 10 Indeed, when the water overflowed, We carried your ancestors in the sailing ship 11 so that We might make it a reminder for you and so that attentive ears might retain it. 12 And when the trumpet is blown with a single blast, 13 And the earth and the mountains are lifted and leveled with one blow - 14 on that Day, the Event occurs. 15 And the heaven will split asunder, for that Day it (the heaven will be frail (weak), and torn up, 16 And the angels are at its edges. And there will bear the Throne of your Lord above them, that Day, eight [of them]. 17 That will be the Day when you shall be brought forth (before Allah) and no secret of yours shall remain hidden. 18 So whoever is given his book in his right hand – he will say, “Take, read my account!” 19 Indeed, I knew that I should come to my reckoning' 20 His shall be a pleasing life 21 In high empyrean 22 The fruit clusters of which are hanging down. 23 (They will be told): “Eat and drink with good cheer as a reward for the good deeds you did in the days that have passed by.” 24 And as for him who is given his book in his left hand he shall say: O would that my book had never been given me: 25 Nor known whatever was my reckoning! 26 I wish my death had been the decisive one. 27 My wealth has not availed me. 28 Gone from me is my authority." 29 It will be said, “Seize him, and shackle him.” 30 Then cast him into the burning fire, 31 then in a chain of seventy cubits' length insert him! 32 for, behold, he did not believe in God, the Tremendous, 33 Nor did he encourage the feeding of the poor. 34 "So no friend hath he here this Day. 35 nor any food except foul pus 36 which none but the sinners eat!" 37
