A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Alif Lam Mim Sad. 1 (This is the) Book (the Quran) sent down unto you (O Muhammad SAW), so let not your breast be narrow therefrom, that you warn thereby, and a reminder unto the believers. 2 Follow what has been sent down to you from your Lord, and follow no friends other than He; little do you remember. 3 How many a township We have destroyed! Our scourge fell upon them at night, or when they were taking midday rest. 4 And their declaration when Our punishment came to them was only that they said, "Indeed, we were wrongdoers!" 5 Then shall We question those to whom Our message was sent and those through whom We sent it 6 Then most certainly We will relate to them with knowledge, and We were not absent. 7 And the weighing will be just on that Day. Then those whose (deeds) are heavier in the balance will find fulfilment, 8 And as for those whose scale is light: those are they who lose their souls because they used to wrong Our revelations. 9 And We have given you (mankind) power in the earth, and appointed for you therein livelihoods. Little give ye thanks! 10
