Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By (the winds) that scatter dust. 1 And those [clouds] carrying a load [of water] 2 And those that glide with ease (upon the sea) 3 Then those (angels who) distribute blessings by Our command; 4 surely that you are promised is true, 5 And lo! the judgment will indeed befall. 6 CONSIDER the firmament full of starry paths! 7 surely you speak at variance, 8 Deluded away from the Qur'an is he who is deluded. 9 Accursed be the conjecturers 10 Who are in a gulf (of ignorance) neglectful; 11 They ask: "When is the Day of Judgement?" -- 12 It will be the Day when they are tormented at the Fire. 13 and will be told, "Suffer the torment which you wanted to experience immediately". 14 Lo! those who keep from evil will dwell amid gardens and watersprings, 15 joyously receiving what their Lord will have granted them. Verily they did good works before (the coming of this Day): 16 they used to sleep but little by night, 17 and at dawn would ask forgiveness, 18 And in their wealth the beggar and the outcast had due share. 19 There are signs in the earth for those who are firm in their faith, 20 And also in your ownselves. Will you not then see? 21 And in the heaven lies your sustenance, and the promise you are given. 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is certainly the truth. It is as true as your ability to speak. 23
