By no means! By the moon, 32 and the night when it retreats 33 by the brightening dawn, 34 Verily it is one of the greatest woes. 35 a warning to humankind, 36 For the one among you who wishes to come forward or stay back. 37 Every soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 Except those of the right hand 39 In Gardens, they seek answers, 40 Of evil-doers: 41 What has brought you into hell? 42 They will say: "We were not of those who prayed; 43 and neither did we feed the needy; 44 and we plunged along with the plungers, 45 “And used to deny the Day of Justice.” 46 Until the certainty (of death) had come upon us. 47 The intercession of their intercessors shall not benefit them. 48 Then what is wrong with them that they turn away from admonition, 49 like frightened donkeys 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay, every man of them desires to be -- given -- scrolls unrolled. 52 Nay! But they fear not the Hereafter (from Allah's punishment). 53 Nay, verily, this is an admonition 54 Let any who will, keep it in remembrance! 55 they will only take heed if God so wills: He is the Lord who is worthy to be feared: the Lord of forgiveness. 56
