The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 And by those that press forward as in a race (i.e. the angels or stars or the horses, etc.). 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts 6 Followed by the second blast, 7 hearts will undergo terrible trembling, 8 and their eyes shall be downcast with dread. 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 “When we have become decayed bones?” 11 They say: “That will then be a return with a great loss!” 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 and behold! They will all come out in the open. 14 Has Moses' story reached you? 15 When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 So he showed him the greater sign; 20 Yet he belied and disobeyed. 21 and brusquely turned his back [on Moses]; 22 and then he gathered [his great ones,] and called [unto his people,] 23 Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all." 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 Verily herein is lesson for him who feareth. 26
