The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by the early hours of the day, 1 By the night when it darkeneth, 2 Thy Sustainer has not forsaken thee, nor does He scorn thee: 3 and the Hereafter will indeed be better for you than the present life; 4 soon you will be gratified with what your Lord will give you. 5 Has He not found thee an orphan, and given thee shelter? 6 And He found thee wandering, so He guided thee, 7 And He found you poor, and made you rich (selfsufficient with selfcontentment, etc.)? 8 Therefore, be not harsh with the orphan; 9 Therefor the beggar drive not away, 10 and proclaim the bounties of your Lord. 11
