The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Recite in the name of your Lord Who created, 1 He created man from a clot. 2 Recite: And thy Lord is the Most Generous, 3 Who has taught (the writing) by the pen [the first person to write was Prophet Idrees (Enoch)]. 4 Taught man what he did not know. 5 Indeed, surely the human is very insolent 6 Because he sees himself free from want. 7 Indeed, to your Lord is the return. 8 Did you see him who forbids 9 A slave when he prayeth? 10 Bethinkest thou, if he is himself guided, 11 or if he commands others to maintain piety!? 12 What is your opinion – if he denies and turns away, how wretched will be his state! 13 Did he not know that God sees? 14 Nay, if he desist not, We shall most surely drag him down upon his forehead 15 A lying, sinful forehead. 16 Then let him call upon his henchmen! 17 We shall call the guards of Hell. 18 No! Do not obey him. But prostrate and draw near [to Allah]. ۩ 19
God the Almighty always says the truth.
