Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the winds (or angels or the Messengers of Allah) sent forth one after another. 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 and by the scatterers scattering (rain) 3 and the severally severing 4 by those who bring down the reminder, 5 By way of excuse or warning. 6 Assuredly, what ye are promised must come to pass. 7 Then the stars will lose their light. 8 When the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 And when the mountains are blown away 10 And when the messengers are brought unto their time appointed - 11 For what day is the time appointed? 12 To the day of decision. 13 And what will convey unto thee what the Day of Decision is! - 14 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 15 Did We not destroy many a nation of the earlier times? 16 We will now cause the later ones to follow them: 17 Thus deal We ever with the guilty. 18 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 19 Did We not create you from a worthless water (semen, etc.)? 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 For a certain appointed time, 22 Then We facilitated (your birth). How well do We calculate! 23 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 24 Did We not make the earth a storehouse? 25 for the living and for the dead? 26 Set We not therein soaring mountains? Sated you with sweetest water? 27 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 28 (It will be said to the disbelievers): "Depart you to that which you used to deny! 29 Walk on to the covering having three branches, 30 Neither shading nor availing against the flame. 31 It will throw out sparks as logs of wood 32 "As if there were (a string of) yellow camels (marching swiftly)." 33 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 34 that Day on which they will not [be able to] utter a word, 35 Nor will it be permitted for them to make an excuse. 36 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 37 This is the Day of Decision; We have gathered you and all the earlier men. 38 if you have a trick, try you now to trick Me!' 39 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 40
