The 'Ad (people) rejected the messengers. 123 Their brother Hud asked them, "Why do you not have fear of God? 124 I am for you a faithful Messenger, 125 “Therefore fear Allah and obey me.” 126 "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the Lord of the Worlds. 127 "Do ye build a landmark on every high place to amuse yourselves? 128 and make for yourselves mighty castles, [hoping] that you might become immortal? 129 and when you strike you strike like tyrants? 130 So fear Allah and obey me. 131 “Fear Him Who has aided you with the things you know.” 132 amply provided you with flocks, and children, 133 gardens and fountains. 134 I fear for you the chastisement of an Awesome Day." 135 They said: It is all one to us whether thou preachest or art not of those who preach; 136 This [religion of ours] is none other than that to which our forebears clung, 137 We will not be subjected to any chastisement." 138 In response they denied him We therefore destroyed them; indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not believers. 139 Surely your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 140

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
