۞ “Gather all the unjust persons and their spouses, and all that they used to worship!” – 22 Instead of Allah, and lead them to the path to hell; 23 "But stop them, for they must be asked: 24 'Why do you not help one another? 25 They will submit to questioning then, 26 And some of them shall advance towards others, questioning each other. 27 They will say: "It was you who used to come to us from the right side [i.e. from the right side of one of us and beautify for us every evil, order us for polytheism, and stop us from the truth i.e. Islamic Monotheism and from every good deed]." 28 They shall say: Nay, you (yourselves) were not believers; 29 We had no power over you, but ye were wayward folk. 30 But now our Sustainer's word has come true against us [as well]: verily, we are bound to taste [the fruit of our sins]. 31 For we had led you astray. In fact we ourselves were astray." 32 Therefore, on that Day they will all share Our punishment. 33 Certainly, that is how We deal with Al-Mujrimun (polytheists, sinners, criminals, the disobedient to Allah, etc.). 34 Truly, when it was said to them: La ilaha ill-Allah "(none has the right to be worshipped but Allah)," they puffed themselves up with pride (i.e. denied it). 35 And say: "What! shall we give up our gods for the sake of a Poet possessed?" 36 Rather, the Prophet has come with the truth and confirmed the [previous] messengers. 37 Verily, you (pagans of Makkah) are going to taste the painful torment; 38 And ye shall be required not except for that which ye have been doing; 39 But Allah's chosen servants (shall be spared this woeful end). 40 For them is a known sustenance, 41 and fruits while they are honored. 42 in the Gardens of Bliss. 43 seated on couches, facing one another. 44 They will be served with a cup full of crystal clear wine, 45 white and delicious to those who drink it, 46 Neither dulling the senses nor intoxicating, 47 And besides them will be chaste women, restraining their glances, with big eyes (of wonder and beauty). 48 [as free of faults] as if they were hidden [ostrich] eggs. 49 They will turn to each other and ask questions. 50 Said one of the speakers: "I had a friend 51 Who said: art thou of those who confess to the doctrine of Resurrection: 52 After we are dead and have become all dust and bones shall we still be requited?' 53 Then he will say, "Shall we look for him?" 54 Then, he will look and see him in the midst of Hell. 55 He saith: By Allah, thou verily didst all but cause my ruin, 56 “And were it not for the munificence of my Lord, I too would have been seized and brought forth (captive)!” 57 He will ask his companion, "Did you not say that there would only be one death 58 except for our first death? Are we not going to be punished? 59 Indeed, this is the mighty victory, 60 for which one must strive hard. 61 Is this better as an entertainment or the tree of Zaqqum? 62 Indeed, We have made it a torment for the wrongdoers. 63 It is a tree that grows from the bottom of Hell; 64 its spathes are as the heads of Satans, 65 Truly, they will eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. 66 And thereafter verily they shall have thereon a draught of boiling water. 67 Then thereafter, verily, their return is to the flaming fire of Hell. 68 They indeed found their fathers astray, 69 So they hastened [to follow] in their footsteps. 70 And verily most of the men of old went astray before them, 71 And indeed We had sent Heralds of warnings among them. 72 See how those who were warned met their end! 73 Except the chosen slaves of Allah (faithful, obedient, and true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 74
