Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Ha, Meem. 1 By the Book that makes things clear,- 2 We have made it a Qur'an in Arabic, that ye may be able to understand (and learn wisdom). 3 And Verily, it (this Quran) is in the Mother of the Book (i.e. Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz), before Us, indeed Exalted, full of Wisdom. 4 Shall We then (warn you not and) take away the Reminder (this Quran) from you, because you are a people Musrifun 5 And how many a Prophet have We sent amongst the men of old. 6 And there came not to them a prophet but they mocked at him. 7 We utterly destroyed them although they were greater in might than these. The examples of ancient peoples have gone before. 8 If thou wert to question them, 'Who created the heavens and the earth?' They would be sure to reply, 'they were created by (Him), the Exalted in Power, Full of Knowledge';- 9 He Who made the earth a resting-place for you, and made in it ways for you that you may go aright; 10 It is He who sends water down from the sky in due measure, We revive dead land with it and likewise you will be resurrected from the grave, 11 He Who created all the pairs, and appointed for you ships and cattle whereupon ye ride. 12 That ye may mount upon their backs, and may remember your Lord's favour when ye mount thereon, and may say: Glorified be He Who hath subdued these unto us, and we were not capable (of subduing them); 13 And verily, to Our Lord we indeed are to return! 14 But they have attributed to Him from His servants a portion. Indeed, man is clearly ungrateful. 15
