The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Allah, the Most Gracious 1 Taught the Qur'an, 2 Created man, 3 He taught distinctness. 4 The sun and the moon are in a reckoning. 5 And the stars and trees prostrate. 6 And the sky He hath uplifted; and He hath set the measure, 7 In order that you may not transgress (due) balance. 8 And establish weight in justice and do not make deficient the balance. 9 And the earth He has put for the creatures. 10 Therein are fruits, date-palms producing sheathed fruit-stalks (enclosing dates). 11 Also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord, will ye twain belie? 13 He created man of clay like the potter's, 14 and He created the jinn of a smokeless fire. 15 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 16 Lord of the two Easts, Lord of the two Wests. 17 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 18 He unleashed the two seas so that they merge together, 19 [yet] between them is a barrier which they may not transgress. 20 Which of the wonders of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 21 There come forth from them pearls, both large and small. 22 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 23 To Him only belong the sailing ships, raised above the sea like hills. 24 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 25
