Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Have you received the news of the Enveloper? 1 (Some) faces on that day shall be downcast, 2 Working [hard] and exhausted. 3 roasting at a scorching Fire 4 given to drink from a boiling spring. 5 No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari' 6 which gives no strength and neither stills hunger. 7 Faces on that day jocund, 8 Rejoicing over their efforts. 9 In a lofty Paradise. 10 They shall hear therein no vain discourse; 11 Therein will be a bubbling spring: 12 Therein will be thrones raised high, 13 and goblets placed ready, 14 And cushions set in rows, 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Look they not at the camels, how they are created? 17 how the heavens are raised up high, 18 And at the Mountains, how they are fixed firm?- 19 And at the earth, how it is outspread? 20 Remind them, for thou art but a remembrancer, 21 Thou art not at all a warder over them. 22 But he who turns his back, and disbelieves, 23 Allah will chastise him with the most terrible chastisement. 24 Surely to Us is their turning back, 25 Then verily, for Us will be their reckoning. 26
God the Almighty always says the truth.
