And Aaron had already told them before [the return of Moses], "O my people, you are only being tested by it, and indeed, your Lord is the Most Merciful, so follow me and obey my order." 90 They replied: 'We will not stop; we will cling to it until Moses returns to us.' 91 Then Moses asked Aaron, "What made you not follow me when you saw them in error? 92 From following me? Then have you disobeyed my order?" 93 He said, “O son of my mother, do not clutch my beard nor the hair on my head; I feared that you may say, ‘You have caused a division among the Descendants of Israel and did not wait for my advice.’” 94 Musa said: what was thy object, O Samiri? 95 He answered: "I have gained insight into something which they were unable to see: and so I took hold of a handful of the Apostle's teachings and cast it away: for thus has my mind prompted me [to act]." 96 [Moses] said, "Then go. And indeed, it is [decreed] for you in [this] life to say, 'No contact.' And indeed, you have an appointment [in the Hereafter] you will not fail to keep. And look at your 'god' to which you remained devoted. We will surely burn it and blow it into the sea with a blast. 97 Your Ilah (God) is only Allah, the One (La ilaha illa Huwa) (none has the right to be worshipped but He). He has full knowledge of all things. 98 Thus, [O Muhammad], We relate to you from the news of what has preceded. And We have certainly given you from Us the Qur'an. 99 Whoever turns away from it will bear a heavy burden on the Day of Judgement, 100 They will abide in this (state): and grievous will the burden be to them on that Day,- 101 The Day whereon the trumpet will be blown into, and We shall gather the culprits on that Day blear-eyed, 102 Murmuring among themselves: Ye have tarried but ten (days). 103 We know well what they will say when the most upright among them will say: "You did not tarry more than a day." 104
