The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Beneficent (God) 1 who taught the Quran -- 2 He created the human being 3 Taught him the mode of expression. 4 The sun and the moon are made punctual. 5 The stars and the trees prostrate. 6 And the sky He hath uplifted; and He hath set the measure, 7 That ye exceed not the measure, 8 weigh, therefore, [your deeds] with equity, and cut not the measure short! 9 It is He Who has spread out the earth for (His) creatures: 10 Therein are fruits, date-palms producing sheathed fruit-stalks (enclosing dates). 11 the grain in the blade; and aromatic herbs. 12 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 13 He created man from dry clay like earthen vessels, 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 16 Lord of both the Easts, and Lord of both the Wests! 17 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 18 He has given freedom to the two great bodies of water, so that they might meet: 19 Between them is a barrier which none of them can transgress. 20 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 21 Pearls and coral-stone come forth from them. 22 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 23 And His are the ships going and coming in the seas, like mountains. 24 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 25
