The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 hearts will throb on that Day 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 “Tell him ‘Do you have the inclination to become pure?’ 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 So Moosa showed him a magnificent sign. 20 but he cried lies, and rebelled, 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 then he mustered 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! 26
