The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful

CONSIDER the heavens and that which comes in the night! 1 And what can make you know what is the night comer? 2 It is the piercing star - 3 There is no soul but has a protector over it. 4 LET MAN, then, observe out of what he has been created: 5 He was created from spurting fluid, 6 which comes out of the loins and ribs. 7 Verily, (Allah) is Able to bring him back (to life)! 8 On a Day whereon secrets shall be out. 9 he will have no power, nor anyone to help him. 10 By oath of the sky from which comes down the rain. 11 And by the Earth which opens out (for the gushing of springs or the sprouting of vegetation),- 12 this is indeed a Decisive Word, 13 And it is not a frivolity. 14 They are devising a guile, 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 So respite thou the infidels - respite them gently, 17

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
