And assuredly We have created human being from ringing clay of loam moulded. 26 And the jinn, We created aforetime from the smokeless flame of fire. 27 Your Lord said to the angels, "I am about to bring into being a man wrought from mud. 28 “Therefore when I have properly fashioned him and breathed into him a chosen noble soul from Myself, fall down before him in prostration.” 29 Therefore all the angels, each and every one of them, fell prostrate. 30 save Iblis: he refused to be among those who prostrated themselves. 31 Said He, 'What ails thee, Iblis, that thou art not among those bowing?' 32 (Iblis) said: "I am not one to prostrate myself to man, whom Thou didst create from sounding clay, from mud moulded into shape." 33 He said: Then go thou forth from hence, for lo! thou art outcast. 34 And surely on you is curse until the day of judgment. 35 Said he, 'My Lord, respite me till the day they shall be raised.' 36 Allah said: verily then thou art of the respited: 37 Till the period of the time made known. 38 He said, “My Lord! I swear by the fact that You sent me astray, I shall distract them in the earth, and I shall lead all of them astray.” 39 except the devoted amongst Your worshippers. 40 (Allah) said: "This is the Way which will lead straight to Me." 41 Indeed, My servants - no authority will you have over them, except those who follow you of the deviators. 42 And indeed hell is the promise for all of them. 43 To it are seven gates: for each of those gates is a (special) class (of sinners) assigned. 44
