A token unto them is the dead earth. We revive it, and We bring forth from it grain so that they eat thereof; 33 We have placed in it gardens of date palms and vines, and caused springs to gush [forth] from it, 34 so that they may consume the fruits and whatever their hands prepare. Will they not then be grateful? 35 Glory be to Him Who created pairs of all things, of what the earth grows, and of their kind and of what they do not know. 36 And a sign for them is the night. We remove from it [the light of] day, so they are [left] in darkness. 37 And [they have a sign in] the sun: it runs in an orbit of its own [and] that is laid down by the will of the Almighty, the All-Knowing; 38 And the moon, We have determined it in phases till it returns like an old palmbranch. 39 It is not for the sun to overtake the moon, nor does the night outstrip the day. They all float, each in an orbit. 40 And a sign for them is that We carried their offspring in the laden Ark (of Noah). 41 And We have created for them of the like thereunto, so on them they ride. 42 Should We so wish, We can drown them, and there will be none to heed their cries of distress, nor will they be rescued. 43 But (by) mercy from Us and for enjoyment till a time. 44 But when it is said to them, "Beware of what is before you and what is behind you; perhaps you will receive mercy... " 45 Never came a token of the tokens of their Lord to them, but they did turn away from it! 46 And when they are told, "Spend ye of (the bounties) with which Allah has provided you," the Unbelievers say to those who believe: "Shall we then feed those whom, if Allah had so willed, He would have fed, (Himself)? Ye are in nothing but manifest error." 47 And they say: when will this promise be fulfilled if ye say sooth? 48 They must be waiting for but one single blast, which will overtake them while they are still disputing. 49 then they will not be able to make any testament, nor will they return to their people. 50
