The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ WHEN THAT which must come to pass [at last] comes to pass, 1 Then none will be able to deny its occurrence. 2 abasing [some,] exalting [others]! 3 When the earth is shaken 4 And the mountains will be powdered to dust. 5 so that they become as scattered dust 6 And ye are classes three. 7 Then (there will be) the Companions of the Right Hand;- What will be the Companions of the Right Hand? 8 And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left? 9 But the foremost shall be [they who in life were] the foremost [in faith and good works]: 10 Those are the ones brought near [to Allah] 11 They will dwell in the Gardens of Bliss: 12 A multitude from the ancients. 13 And a few from those of later times. 14 On thrones decorated, 15 Reclining on them, facing one another. 16 (and there) shall wait on them immortal youths 17 With goblets and ewers and a cup of pure drink; 18 Their heads shall not ache with it, nor shall they lose their senses. 19 And fruit; that they may choose. 20 and the meat of any bird that they may desire; 21 And there will be fair ones large eyed. 22 like unto pearls [still] hidden in their shells. 23 A recompense for that which they have been working. 24 They will not hear any unnecessary or sinful talk 25 (Naught) but the saying: Peace, (and again) Peace. 26 And the companions of the right hand; how happy are the companions of the right hand! 27 (They will be) among thornless lote-trees, 28 And banana-trees (with fruits), one above another. 29 In shade long-extended, 30 And in perpetually flowing water. 31 and an abundance of fruits, 32 Neither intercepted nor forbidden, 33 And [upon] beds raised high. 34 We have created maidens perfectly 35 Then We have made them virgins, 36 loving and of equal age. 37 like of age for the Companions of the Right. 38
