The people of Lot rejected the Messengers. 160 when their brother Lot said unto them: "Will you not be conscious of God? 161 I am a trustworthy Messenger. 162 “Therefore fear Allah and obey me.” 163 I ask of you no recompense for this; my reward is only with the Lord of the Universe. 164 Do you, of all people, approach males, 165 and leave your wives whom your Lord has created for you? You are a people who transgress all bounds." 166 They said: "If you do not desist, O Lot, you will be expelled (from the city)." 167 He said, "I am one of those who abhors your ways. 168 'My Lord, save me and my people from that they are doing' 169 So We delivered him and his household all. 170 Except an old woman, among those who remained behind. 171 Then We destroyed the others. 172 We rained upon them a rain, and evil is the rain (of stones) on those that are warned. 173 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 174 your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 175
