Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Alif Lam Mim. 1 These are the verses of the Book of wisdom, 2 a guidance and mercy for the doers of good, 3 Those who keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate and they are certain of the hereafter. 4 Such have guidance from their Lord. Such are the successful. 5 But among men are also those who spread frivolous stories to mislead (others) from the way of God, without any knowledge, and take it lightly. For such as these the nemesis will be shameful. 6 And when Our signs are recited to such a man he turns away, waxing proud, as though he heard them not, and in his ears were heaviness; so give him good tidings of a painful chastisement. 7 Surely for those who believe and do the right are pleasure gardens. 8 to abide therein in accordance with God's true promise: for He alone is almighty, truly wise. 9 He has created the skies without any support that you could see, and has placed firm mountains upon the earth, lest it sway with you, and has caused all manner of living creatures to multiply thereon. And We sent down water from the skies, and thus We made every kind of excellent plant grow there: 10 Such is the Creation of Allah: now show Me what is there that others besides Him have created: nay, but the Transgressors are in manifest error. 11
