Friday (Al-Jumu'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ ALL THAT IS in the heavens and all that is on earth extols the limitless glory of God, the Sovereign Supreme, the Holy, the Almighty, the Wise! 1 It is He Who has sent amongst the Unlettered a messenger from among themselves, to rehearse to them His Signs, to sanctify them, and to instruct them in Scripture and Wisdom,- although they had been, before, in manifest error;- 2 And [to] others of them who have not yet joined them. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise. 3 This is the bounty of God, He gives whosoever He please. God is master of great bounty. 4 The example of those who were entrusted with the Torah and then did not take it on is like that of a donkey who carries volumes [of books]. Wretched is the example of the people who deny the signs of Allah. And Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people. 5 Say: "O you Jews, if you claim that you are the favourites of God apart from all men, then wish for death, if you speak the truth. 6 And they will never invoke it because of what their hands have sent before; and Allah is Cognizant of the unjust. 7 Tell them: “The death from which you flee will certainly overtake you. Then you will be returned to Him Who fully knows what is hidden and what is manifest. Thereupon He will let you know all that you used to do.” 8
