Nay; I swear by the moon, 32 and the night when it retreats 33 And the daybreak when it shines; 34 Indeed hell is one of the greatest entities. 35 a warning to mortal man 36 to everyone of you, whether he chooses to come forward or to hang back! 37 Every soul will be a pledge for that which it hath earned, 38 Except the Companions of the Right Hand. 39 In gardens they will ask one another 40 From the guilty. 41 "What led you into Hell Fire?" 42 They will say: we have not been of those who prayed. 43 "Nor were we of those who fed the indigent; 44 And we have been wading with the waders. 45 and belied the Day of Recompense 46 till the Certain came to us.' -- 47 Then there will not profit them intercesion of the interceders. 48 If such will be the Day of Judgment, what is the matter with them? Why do they run away from guidance, 49 As if they were alarmed donkeys 50 fleeing -- before a lion? 51 Aye! every one of them desireth that: he should be vouchsafed scrolls expanded. 52 No! But they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Never so, as this is a reminder. 54 So whosoever willeth may heed it. 55 But none will remember, unless Allah wills, He is the Owner of fear, the Owner of forgiveness. 56
