The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
36 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Spider (Al-Ankaboot) before The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Woe to those who give less [than due], 1 Those who when they take the measure from mankind demand it full, 2 but when they give by measurement or weight to others, they give them less. 3 Do they not realize that they will be resurrected 4 for a great Day, 5 The Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the Universe? 6 No indeed, the Book of the immoral is in Sijjeen. 7 How will you comprehend what Sijjin is? 8 It is a comprehensively written Book (of records). 9 Woe on that Day unto the beliers 10 Those who deny the Day of Judgment 11 And none deny it except every sinful transgressor. 12 [and so,] whenever Our messages are conveyed to them, they but say: "Fables of ancient times!" 13 No! Their own deeds have cast a veil over their hearts. 14 On the Day of Judgment, they will certainly be barred from the mercy of their Lord. 15 Then lo! they verily will burn in hell, 16 Then it will be said [to them], "This is what you used to deny." 17 But, the Book of the righteous is in the 'Illiyoon. 18 What could let you know what the 'Illiyoon is! 19 A book inscribed, 20 Those who are drawn near (to Allah) shall witness it. 21 Surely the pious shall be in bliss, 22 Reclining on couches, looking on. 23 upon their faces thou wilt see the brightness of bliss. 24 They are made to quaff of a pure drink that is sealed (to others). 25 Whose seal is musk - for this let (all) those strive who strive for bliss - 26 And the admixture of it is a water of Tasnim, 27 a fountain at which the chosen ones shall drink. 28 Surely they who are guilty used to laugh at those who believe. 29 And whenever they passed by them, used to wink at each other (in mockery); 30 And when they returned to their household they returned jesting. 31 and when they saw them said: 'These are they who are astray' 32 Yet they were not sent as guardians over them. 33 So Today those who believed are laughing at the disbelievers, 34 upon couches gazing. 35 Will not the Unbelievers have been paid back for what they did? 36
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
