Remember when God covenanted the prophets (and said): "If after I have given you the Law and the judgement there comes an apostle to you who confirms the truth already with you, you will surely believe him and help him;" and asked: "Do you accept and agree to the terms of My covenant?" They said: "We accept." "Then you be witness," said God, "and I shall be witness with you. 81 Then whoever turns away after this, they are the Fasiqun (rebellious: those who turn away from Allah's Obedience). 82 Is it then other than Allah's religion that they seek (to follow), and to Him submits whoever is in the heavens and the earth, willingly or unwillingly, and to Him shall they be returned. 83 Say, "We believe in God and in what has been sent down to us and to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob and the Tribes. We believe in what has been given to Moses, Jesus and the prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them. It is to Him that we have surrendered ourselves." 84 He who chooses a religion other than Islam, it will not be accepted from him, and in the Everlasting Life he will be among the losers. 85 Why would God guide a people who disbelieves after having had faith, who have found the Messenger to be truthful, and who have received authoritative evidence? God does not guide the unjust. 86 For such the requital is the curse of God and the angels and of men. 87 Abiding eternally therein. The punishment will not be lightened for them, nor will they be reprieved. 88 Except for those who repent after that and correct themselves. For indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful. 89 Those who relieved and have har-dened in their disbelief after once believing, their (pretence to) repentance shall not be accepted. Indeed such men have altogether strayed. 90 From those who deny and die disbelieving will never be accepted an earthful of gold if proferred by them as ransom. For them is grievous punishment, and none will help them. 91
