Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The sure calamity! 1 How tremendous is the true event! 2 And what will teach thee what is the Indubitable? 3 Thamood and Aad belied the Clatterer. 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the awful cry! 5 And the 'Ad, they were destroyed by a furious Wind, exceedingly violent; 6 He made it rage against them seven nights and eight days in succession: so that thou couldst see the (whole) people lying prostrate in its (path), as they had been roots of hollow palm-trees tumbled down! 7 and dost thou now see any remnant of them? 8 And there came Pharaoh and those before him and the overturned cities with sin. 9 When they disobeyed the apostle of their Lord He seized them with an overwhelming punishment. 10 Lo! when the waters rose, We carried you upon the ship 11 so that We might make all this a [lasting] reminder to you all, and that every wide-awake ear might consciously take it in. 12 When a single blow is blown on the Horn, 13 And the earth with the mountains shall be lifted up and crushed with one crash, 14 On that Day will come what is to come. 15 And the heaven shall be rent in sunder, it on that Day shall be frail. 16 and the angels [will appear] at its ends, and above them, eight will bear aloft on that Day the throne of thy Sustainer's almightiness… 17 That Day shall you be brought to Judgement, not a secret of you will be hidden. 18 Then as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Take, read my Record! 19 "I did really understand that my Account would (One Day) reach me!" 20 Then he shall be in a life well-pleasing 21 In an elevated garden, 22 Clusters whereof shall be near at hand. 23 “Eat and drink with pleasure the reward of what you sent ahead, in the past days.” 24 And he that will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "Ah! Would that my Record had not been given to me! 25 "And that I had never known, how my Account is? 26 How I wish my death had ended all. 27 My riches have availed me not; 28 "My power has perished from me!"... 29 (It will be said): 'Take him and bind him. 30 and then roast him in Hell, 31 “Then bind him inside a chain which is seventy arm-lengths.” 32 Behold, he never believed in God the All-mighty, 33 and did not feel any urge to feed the needy: 34 On this day, they will have no friends 35 Nor any food save filth 36 that none excepting the sinners eat.' 37
