Noah (Nooh)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Surely We sent Nuh to his people, saying: Warn your people before there come upon them a painful chastisement. 1 [Noah] said, "My people! I am but a plain warner to you, 2 “That you must worship Allah and fear Him, and obey me.” 3 That He may forgive some of your sins and prolong your term till an appointed time. Surely when God's appointed time is come it will not be put off, if only you knew! 4 He said, “My Lord! I invited my people night and day.” 5 “So for them, my calling them increased their fleeing away.” 6 "And every time I have called to them, that Thou mightest forgive them, they have (only) thrust their fingers into their ears, covered themselves up with their garments, grown obstinate, and given themselves up to arrogance. 7 "I preached to them aloud, in public. 8 and indeed, I spoke to them both publicly and in secret: 9 “I therefore told them, ‘Seek forgiveness from your Lord; He is indeed Most Forgiving.’ 10 'He will send rain to you in abundance; 11 And will give you increase of wealth and sons, and give you gardens and springs of water. 12 What ails you, that you look not for majesty in God, 13 when He has created you through different stages of existence? 14 "Have you not seen that God has created the seven heavens one above the other 15 and set the moon therein for a light and the sun for a lamp? 16 And Allah has made you grow out of the earth as a growth: 17 "'And in the End He will return you into the (earth), and raise you forth (again at the Resurrection)? 18 God has made the earth for you a spreading, 19 That you may go along therein in wide paths. 20
