Al-Taareq

The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

By the heavens and al-tariq. 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 The very brightly shining star! 3 There is no soul but that it has over it a protector. 4 So let man see from what he is created! 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 Issuing from (the pelvis) between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Indeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able. 8 A day when the secrets will be examined. 9 (Man) will have no power, and no helper. 10 By the heaven which returneth, 11 And the earth splitting (with plants); 12 Most surely it is a decisive word, 13 It is not a thing for amusement. 14 They are cunningly devising, 15 but I too plan against them. 16 Therefore give them some respite – give them some time. 17
