Nay! By the moon 32 Consider the night when it departs, 33 by the brightening dawn, 34 This is but one of the mighty (portents), 35 As a warning to humanity - 36 alike to every one of you, who want to go forward or hang back. 37 Every soul is held in pledge against its own deeds, 38 except the people of the right hand 39 in Gardens they will question 40 of those who were lost in sin: 41 "what led you into hell?" 42 They will answer: "We were not among those who prayed; 43 Nor did we used to feed the poor. 44 and we indulged in vain talk with those who indulged in vain talk, 45 And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 Until the certainty had come upon us. 47 So the intercession of intercessors shall not avail them. 48 What aileth them, therefore, that they are from the admonition turning away? 49 As though they were asses startled. 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay, every man of them desires to be -- given -- scrolls unrolled. 52 By no means! But they fear not the Hereafter, 53 Nay, verily, this is an admonition 54 So whosoever will may heed. 55 But none will remember, unless Allah wills, He is the Owner of fear, the Owner of forgiveness. 56
