Said [Moses]: "O my Sustainer! Open up my heart [to Thy light,] 25 and make my task easy for me. 26 And untie the knot from my tongue 27 (That) they may understand my word; 28 And appoint for me a minister from my family - 29 "Harun (Aaron), my brother; 30 Add Thou through him to my strength, 31 And let him share my task 32 That we may exalt You much 33 and remember You much: 34 "Verily! You are of us Ever a Well-Seer." 35 He replied: 'Moses, your request is granted. 36 And certainly We bestowed on you a favor at another time; 37 when We revealed what was to be made known to your mother, 38 'Put him in a wooden box and cast it in the river. The river will cast it on the bank. An enemy of Ours, and his, will retrieve it.' We bestowed Our love on you that you may be reared under Our eyes. 39 Your sister went to them and said, "May I show you someone who will nurse this child?" We returned you to your mother to make her rejoice and forget her grief. You slew a man and We saved you from trouble. We tried you through various trials. Then you stayed some years with the people of Midian (Shu'ayb and his family) and after that you came back to Egypt as was ordained. 40 I have chosen thee for My service; 41 Go with My signs, you and your brother, and do not be lax in remembering Me. 42 “Both of you go to Firaun; he has indeed rebelled.” 43 "But speak to him mildly; perchance he may take warning or fear (Allah)." 44 They said: "O our Lord, we are really frightened lest he behave insolently with us or become violent." 45 God said, "Do not fear; I am with you both. I hear and I see. 46 Go to him and say, 'We are both messengers from your Lord. Let the Children of Israel go with us, and do not oppress them. We have brought you a Sign from your Lord, and may peace be upon whoever follows the right guidance; 47 Lo! it hath been revealed unto us that the doom will be for him who denieth and turneth away. 48 Said Firaun, “So who is the Lord of you both, O Moosa?” 49 They replied, "Our Lord is the One Who has created all things and has given guidance". 50 Said [Pharaoh]: "And what of all the past generations?" 51 [Moses] said, "The knowledge thereof is with my Lord in a record. My Lord neither errs nor forgets." 52 He who appointed the earth to be a cradle for you, and therein threaded roads for you, and sent down water out of heaven, and therewith We have brought forth divers kinds of plants. 53 Eat and pasture your cattle; most surely there are signs in this for those endowed with understanding. 54
