And truly, this (the Quran) is a revelation from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists), 192 Which the trusted spirit descended with 193 upon thy heart, [O Muhammad] so that thou mayest be among those who preach 194 In eloquent Arabic. 195 (a revelation embodied) in the scriptures of the ancients. 196 Is it not a sign to them that the learned scholars (like 'Abdullah bin Salam who embraced Islam) of the Children of Israel knew it (as true)? 197 And had We revealed it unto any of the non-Arabs, 198 So that he should have recited it to them, they would not have believed therein. 199 This is how We have made (the habit of) denying embedded in the hearts of the guilty. 200 They will not believe in it until they see the painful punishment. 201 It shall come to them of a sudden, while they perceive it not; 202 Then they will say: Are we to be reprieved? 203 Do they wish Us then to hasten the punishment? 204 Just think: If We let them enjoy (the good things of life) for a few years more, 205 And then the promise that is given to them, does come upon them- 206 They would not be availed by the enjoyment with which they were provided. 207 And We destroyed not a city but it had its warners. 208 By way of reminder; and We never are unjust. 209 No evil ones have brought down this (Revelation): 210 And it behoves them not, and they have not the power to do (it). 211 The satans are barred from listening to anything from the heavens. 212 Hence, [O man,] do not invoke any other deity side by side with God, lest thou find thyself among those who are made to suffer [on Judgment Day]. 213 And warn [whomever thou canst reach, beginning with] thy kinsfolk, 214 And spread your wing of mercy for the believers following you. 215 If they disobey you, say, "I bear no responsibility for what you do." 216 Put your trust in the Mighty One, the Merciful, 217 who can see whether you stand up 218 or move during your prostration with the worshippers. 219 for, verily, He alone is all-hearing, all-knowing! 220 Shall I tell you upon whom the devils descend? 221 They descend on every sinful, false one. 222 Who give ear, and most of them are liars. 223 As for the poets, the erring follow them, 224 Have you not seen that they wander distract in every valley, 225 And that they say what they practise not?- 226 Except those [poets] who believe and do righteous deeds and remember Allah often and defend [the Muslims] after they were wronged. And those who have wronged are going to know to what [kind of] return they will be returned. 227
