The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the Mount, 1 Consider [God's] revelation, inscribed 2 In an outstretched fine parchment, 3 Consider the long-enduring house [of worship]! 4 And the elevated canopy 5 And the swollen sea 6 Indeed, the punishment of your Lord will occur. 7 Of it there is no averter. 8 Upon the day when heaven spins dizzily 9 The mountains move and fly away, 10 On that Day woe to those who belied 11 those who are in plunging, playing. 12 The day on which they shall be driven away to the fire of hell with violence. 13 This is the Fire which ye were wont to believe. 14 “So is this magic, or are you unable to see?” 15 Burn in its heat. It is all the same for you whether you exercise patience or not; This is the recompense for your deeds". 16 Indeed, the righteous will be in gardens and pleasure, 17 enjoying what Allah will have endowed them with; and their Lord will have saved them from the torment of the Blazing Fire. 18 (To them will be said:) "Eat and drink ye, with profit and health, because of your (good) deeds." 19 Reclining upon couches ranged in rows; and We shall espouse them to wide-eyed houris. 20 And those who believed and whose descendants followed them in faith - We will join with them their descendants, and We will not deprive them of anything of their deeds. Every person, for what he earned, is retained. 21 And We shall bestow on them, of fruit and meat, anything they shall desire. 22 while they pass therein a cup one to another wherein is no idle talk, no cause of sin, 23 ۞ They will be served by youths who will be as beautiful as pearls. 24 They will turn to one another and ask (regarding the past events). 25 They will say: “When we were living before among our kinsfolk we lived in constant fear (of Allah's displeasure). 26 Then Allah graced us with His favour and saved us from the chastisement of the scorching wind. 27 Lo! we used to pray unto Him of old. Lo! He is the Benign, the Merciful. 28
