The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Allah, the Most Gracious 1 Bestowed the Qur'an, 2 He created the human being 3 And taught him to express clearly. 4 The sun and moon revolve to a computation; 5 And the stars and trees prostrate. 6 He raised the heaven on high and set the scale. 7 That ye exceed not the measure, 8 weigh, therefore, [your deeds] with equity, and cut not the measure short! 9 He spread out the earth for the people. 10 There are fruits of all kinds on it, and date-palms with their clusters sheathed, 11 the grain in the blade; and aromatic herbs. 12 Which of the bounties of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 13 He created man of clay like, unto pottery. 14 And the jinn did He create of smokeless fire. 15 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 16 He is the Lord of the East and West through all seasons. 17 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 18 He has set the two oceans in motion, converging together. 19 In-between the twain is a barrier which they pass not. 20 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 21 Pearls and corals come forth from both of them. 22 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 23 His too are the ships that run, raised up in the sea like land-marks. 24 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 25
