Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 by (the angels) as swift as blowing winds, 2 And scatter (things) far and wide; 3 Then by those that clearly differentiate the right and wrong. 4 and then cast (Allah's) remembrance (in people's hearts), 5 excusing or warning, 6 BEHOLD, all that you are told to expect will surely come to pass. 7 So when the stars are obliterated 8 And when the heaven is rent asunder, 9 When the mountains are scattered (to the winds) as dust; 10 and when the Messengers' time is set, 11 For what day has the term [of all this] been set? 12 To the Day of Decision. 13 And what do you know, what the Day of Decision is! 14 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 15 Destroyed We not the ancients? 16 and make others settle after them in their land? 17 Thus deal We ever with the guilty. 18 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 19 Did We not create you from a humble fluid, 20 The which We placed in a place of rest, firmly fixed, 21 For a certain appointed time, 22 Then We facilitated (your birth). How well do We calculate! 23 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 24 Have We not caused the earth to hold within itself 25 For the living and the dead among you? 26 place on it high mountains and provide you with fresh water? 27 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 28 Walk on to that which you called a lie. 29 Proceed to that shadow, rising in three columns 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 "Indeed it throws about sparks (huge) as Forts, 32 as black camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 34 This is a Day they will not speak, 35 Nor given leave to make excuses. 36 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have brought you and the men of old together. 38 So if you have any plot to devise against Me, then devise it. 39 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 40
