The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ About what are they asking one another? 1 (Is it) of the great announcement 2 on which they [so utterly] disagree. 3 No indeed; they shall soon know! 4 Again surely yes, they will soon come to know! 5 Have We not spread the earth like a bed, 6 and raised the mountains like supporting poles? 7 And We have created you in pairs. 8 And made your sleep [a means for] rest 9 And have appointed the night as a cloak, 10 And have made the day for livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven firmaments, 12 and placed therein a hot, shining lamp, 13 and have sent down from the clouds, pouring rain 14 That We may produce from it grain and vegetation, 15 And gardens dense and luxuriant. 16 Verily, the Day of Decision is a fixed time, 17 The Day the Horn is blown and you will come forth in multitudes 18 And the heaven will have been opened, and it will have become doors. 19 And the mountains are removed and will be [but] a mirage. 20 Truly Hell is as a place of ambush, 21 a return for the insolent, 22 They will remain in it for ages. 23 they shall taste in it no coolness, nor any pleasant drink 24 save boiling water and wash of the wounds; 25 for a suitable recompense. 26 Surely they feared not the account, 27 and persistently rejected Our revelations. 28 However, We have recorded everything in a book. 29 So taste you (the results of your evil actions); no increase shall We give you, except in torment. 30
