The prople of Lout (Lot) (those dwelt in the towns of Sodom in Palestine) belied the Messengers. 160 When their brother Lot said to them: 'Will you not be cautious? 161 "Verily! I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 162 So keep your duty to Allah and obey me. 163 And I ask of you no wage therefor; my wage is the concern only of the Lord of the Worlds. 164 Do you, in the world, want to have carnal relations with males 165 instead of your wives, whom your Lord has created specially for you? You are a transgressing people." 166 They said: "If you do not desist, O Lot, you will be expelled (from the city)." 167 [Lot] exclaimed: "Behold, I am one of those who utterly abhor your doings!" 168 My Lord, deliver me and my family from their wicked deeds." 169 So We delivered him and his family,- all 170 Except one old woman, who stayed behind. 171 then We destroyed the others. 172 And We showered a rain upon them; so what a wretched rain for those who were warned! 173 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not Muslims. 174 Yet surely your Lord is mighty and powerful. 175
