Elucidated (Fussilat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Ha. Mim. 1 A revelation from the Beneficent, the Merciful, 2 A Book, the verses of which are distinguished, an Arabic Koran for a nation who know. 3 It contains glad news and warnings (for the people), but most of them have ignored it and do not listen. 4 And they say: our hearts are under veils from that whereunto thou callest us, and in our ears there is heaviness, and betwixt us and thee there is a curtain; work thou then, verily we are workers. 5 Say (unto them O Muhammad): I am only a mortal like you. It is inspired in me that your Allah is One Allah, therefor take the straight path unto Him and seek forgiveness of Him. And woe unto the idolaters, 6 Who give not the poor-due, and who are disbelievers in the Hereafter. 7 Indeed for those who believed and did good deeds, is a limitless reward. 8
