We rescued the Israelites from the humiliating torment 30 and from the Pharaoh. He was the chief of the transgressors. 31 We knowingly exalted them (i.e., the Children of Israel) above other peoples of the world 32 And granted them Signs in which there was a manifest trial 33 Verily these! they say: 34 “There is nothing except our dying just once, and we will not be raised.” 35 So bring our fathers (back), if you are truthful. 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba and those before them? We destroyed them, for surely they were guilty. 37 And We did not create the heavens and the earth and what is between them in sport. 38 We created them with definite purpose; but most of them do not understand. 39 Indeed, the Day of Judgement is the appointed time for them all - 40 The day on which, no friends will benefit each other at all, nor will they be helped. (Except those who are pious – see verse 43:67) 41 Save those on whom Allah will have mercy. Verily He! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 42
