Nay, verily: By the Moon, 32 and by the night when it recedes, 33 And [by] the morning when it brightens, 34 Verily, that [hell-fire] is Indeed one of the great [forewarnings] 35 as a warner to mortals. 36 For the one among you who wishes to come forward or stay back. 37 Every soul is mortgaged for its own deeds. 38 Except the people of the right hand, 39 (They will be) in Gardens (of Delight): they will question each other, 40 Concerning the guilty: 41 "What has brought you into the Fire of Hell ?" 42 They will reply, "We did not pray, 43 Nor did we feed the wretched. 44 we indulged in vain arguments along with those who indulged in them; 45 and we gave the lie to the Day of Judgement 46 till the Certain came to us.' -- 47 Then the intercession of the intercessors shall not profit them. 48 What ails them, that they turn away from the Reminder, 49 As though they were frightened asses 50 That had fled from a lion? 51 Rather each one of them desires that he should be given open Books. 52 No! But they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay, verily, this is an admonition 54 Let anyone who seeks guidance do so. 55 But none will remember, unless Allah wills, He is the Owner of fear, the Owner of forgiveness. 56
