Al-Hijjr 3 of 6
We created man from sounding clay, from mud moulded into shape; 26 And the jinn, We created aforetime from the smokeless flame of fire. 27 Recall when your Lord said to the angels: "I will indeed bring into being a human being out of dry ringing clay wrought from black mud. 28 When I have completed shaping him and have breathed into him of My Spirit, then fall you down before him in prostration." 29 So the angels made obeisance, all of them together, 30 Except Iblis (Satan); he refused to be among those who prostrated. 31 Said He, 'What ails thee, Iblis, that thou art not among those bowing?' 32 (Iblis) said: "I am not one to prostrate myself to man, whom Thou didst create from sounding clay, from mud moulded into shape." 33 Said He: "Go forth, then, from this [angelic state]: for, behold, thou art [henceforth] accursed, 34 "And verily, the curse shall be upon you till the Day of Recompense (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)." 35 [Iblis (Satan)] said: "O my Lord! Give me then respite till the Day they (the dead) will be resurrected." 36 He answered: 'You are among those reprieved 37 “Till the Day of a well-known time.” 38 "O my Lord," he said, "since You have led me into error I'll beguile them with the pleasures of the world and lead them astray, 39 Except, among them, Your chosen servants." 40 (Allah) said: "This (way of My sincere servants) is indeed a way that leads straight to Me. 41 and you have no authority over My servants except the erring ones who follow you. 42 "And surely, Hell is the promised place for them all. 43 It has seven gates; for each gate is a portion assigned from them. 44

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
