And assuredly Nuh cried unto us; and We are the Best of answerers! 75 And We rescued him and his family from the great distress (i.e. drowning), 76 and We made his offspring the only survivors. 77 and left for him among the later folk 78 Peace and salutation to Nuh among the nations. 79 Thus do We reward all those who do good. 80 for he was truly one of our believing servants: 81 [and so We saved him and those who followed him] and then We caused the others to drown. 82 ۞ Abraham was one of his followers. 83 When he came to his Lord with a pure heart [attached to Allah Alone and none else, worshipping none but Allah Alone true Islamic Monotheism, pure from the filth of polytheism]. 84 [And] when he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship? 85 Is it a calumny, gods apart from God, that you desire? 86 Then what is your thought about the Lord of the worlds?" 87 Then he looked at the stars, looking up once, 88 and said, "Verily, I am sick [at heart]!" 89 So they went away from him, turning back. 90 Then he turned to their gods and said, "Do you not eat? 91 What is the matter with you that you do not speak? 92 And he turned upon them striking them with the right hand. 93 And (his people) came toward him, hastening. 94 He said: 'Do you worship what you, yourselves have carved 95 "When God has created you and what you make?" 96 They said, “Construct a building (furnace) for him, and then cast him in the blazing fire!” 97 (This failing), they then sought a stratagem against him, but We made them the ones most humiliated! 98 And he said (after his rescue from the fire): "Verily, I am going to my Lord. He will guide me!" 99 My Lord! Bestow on me a son who will be of the righteous. 100 So We gave him the glad tidings of a forbearing boy. 101 And when he reached the age of traveling with him, he said: 'My son, while I was sleeping I saw that I shall slaughter (sacrifice) you, tell me what is your opinion' He replied: 'Father, do as you are ordered (by Allah). Allah willing, you shall find me one of those who are steadfast' 102 So when they had both submitted their wills (to Allah), and he had laid him prostrate on his forehead (for sacrifice), 103 And We called out to him: "O Abraham! 104 you have confirmed your vision' As such We recompense the gooddoers. 105 This was indeed a plain trial. 106 We ransomed his son with a great sacrifice 107 And We left (this blessing) for him among generations (to come) in later times: 108 Peace be upon Ibrahim! 109 Thus indeed do We reward those who do right. 110 For he was one of our believing Servants. 111 Then, We gave him the glad tidings of Isaac, a Prophet, one of the righteous, 112 and blessed him and Isaac too: some of their offspring were good, but some clearly sinned against their souls. 113
