Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Say: 'It has been revealed to me that a company of the jinn gave ear, then they said, "We have indeed heard a Koran wonderful, 1 Which guideth unto righteousness, so we believe in it and we ascribe no partner unto our Lord. 2 And that He-- exalted be the majesty of our Lord-- has not taken a consort, nor a son: 3 And that the foolish one among us used to speak concerning Allah an atrocious lie. 4 and that “we had thought that men and jinn would never speak a lie about Allah”, 5 "Certain human beings sought refuge with certain jinn and this increased the rebelliousness of those jinn. 6 They thought, as you did, that God would never raise up anyone from the dead. 7 And we stretched towards heaven, but we found it filled with terrible guards and meteors. 8 We would sit there on seats to hear; but any listening now finds a meteor in wait for him. 9 We do not know whether by this arrangement God intends benefit and guidance for the people of the earth or only evil. 10 And that some of us are good and others of us are below that: we are sects following different ways: 11 And we have become certain that we will never cause failure to Allah upon earth, nor can we escape Him by flight. 12 And when we heard the Message of guidance, we believed therein; and whosoever believeth in his Lord, he shall fear neither diminution nor wrong. 13 'And of us some are Muslims (who have submitted to Allah, after listening to this Quran), and of us some are Al-Qasitun (disbelievers those who have deviated from the Right Path)'. And whosoever has embraced Islam (i.e. has become a Muslim by submitting to Allah), then such have sought the Right Path." 14 but as for those who have deviated, they have become firewood for Gehenna!"' 15 [KNOW,] THEN, that if they [who have heard Our call] keep firmly to the [right] path, We shall certainly shower them with blessings abundant, 16 So We might test them therein. And whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord He will put into arduous punishment. 17 ‘And that the mosques are for Allah only – therefore do not worship anyone along with Allah.’ 18 and when Allah's servant stood up to call on Him, they well-nigh swarmed him. 19
