The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the sky with its constellations, 1 By the promised Day (of Judgment); 2 And by the Day witnessing and the Day witnessed, 3 THEY DESTROY [but] themselves, they who would ready a pit 4 the fire with its fuel, 5 when they were seated over it 6 And to that which they did to the believers were witnesses. 7 Against these they had no grudge except that they believed in Allah, the Most Mighty, the Most Praiseworthy, 8 to whom belongs the Kingdom of the heavens and earth. And Allah is the Witness of all things. 9 Verily, as for those who persecute believing men and believing women, and thereafter do not repent, hell's suffering awaits them: yea, suffering through fire awaits them! 10 Indeed those who believed and did good deeds – for them are Gardens beneath which rivers flow; this is the great success. 11 Indeed, the vengeance of your Lord is severe. 12 It is He who creates all things and causes them to return. 13 He is the All-forgiving, the Most Loving One, 14 Owner of the Throne, the Exalted. 15 Who does as He pleases. 16 Has the story reached thee, of the forces- 17 Of Fir'aun (Pharaoh) and Thamud? 18 Yet those who deny the truth persist in denial. 19 However, God encompassed their activities. 20 Nay, but this [divine writ which they reject] is a discourse sublime, 21 (Preserved) on the guarded tablet. 22
